Named for patriarch Carlos Fuente Sr. and originally blended in 1976, Don Carlos was reintroduced in the Dominican Republic in 1986 after the family's Nicaraguan factory burned in the revolution. A Cameroon wrapper covers Dominican binder and filler aged as long as ten years, opening with cedar and spice before settling into nuts, caramel, cocoa, and leather.
