Founded in the 1960s by Cuban exile Pepe Garcia, originally rolled in the Canary Islands before moving to the Dominican Republic in 1982 — created by the same Menendez and Garcia families behind Montecristo, still blended by their Grupo de Maestros. A Connecticut Shade wrapper over Dominican binder and long-filler, rolled at Tabacalera de Garcia: cedar, nuts, coffee, soft spice, and a long vanilla finish, mild-to-medium.
